Do you want your celebration to actually be a killer party that you'll never forget?
You need a better DJ...
But why me? Keep reading...
The other day I was talking to a friend about how you have bands of two different kinds:
- Bands who are musically original, and...
- cheesy showboats who are just trying to make money - usually playing covers.
And I guess there are some in between who do both...
In the DJ world it’s pretty similar.
You have two kinds of DJ's:
- The dime-a-dozen DJ who provides a basic service (could be good or bad)
- And DJs who are artists
These DJs help create new and memorable experiences.
Here’s an example:
who has thousands of views on YouTube is someone unique. He’s got a fresh and enthusiastic (almost hyper) approach to DJing.
You can like the music he spins or not, but this guy is challenging the status quo of the top-40 DJ. It doesn’t mean he never plays hits or popular music, only trying obscure, experimental music for pretentious hipsters.
It simply means he tries to make it a little more interesting, fun and memorable.
His YouTube channel
alone is enough to entertain.
I’ve been to several events where I couldn’t tell you the DJ who was there. I may have had a good evening, but it wasn’t like I could tell you who the DJ was.
On the other hand at all the parties and events where I had a GREAT time, I could tell you who the DJ was.
Another example: Generation Events in NYC, (Jason Fioto) has a gift for making any event they do memorable. These guys are professional, classy, fashionable.
I first experienced Jason DJing at a cousin’s wedding in Connecticut. It was simply fantastic. The way he uniquely blended multiple genres in one night was something to be remembered.
You had both 70 year olds and 25 year olds on the dance floor.
Pretty special indeed, but as they say, “you had to be there”… because it was an experience. And that’s what artists bring.
So…Get a better DJ.
